AIR TRAVEL INFORMATION

If travelling by road or rail isn’t your preferred choice, or you are coming in from aboard, you may be thinking of flying in for the Moondance Festival 2018. Read on to find out the easiest way to arrive.

When it comes to booking your flights, we advise this is done as early as possible to secure the very best deals. EasyJet, Jet2, Ryan Air and Flybe all schedule flights into the UK, so look into the best route and price to suit your budget.

Stansted, Southend and London City are the nearest airports to the festival site, and depending on which direction you are flying in from this will determine the airport you arrive at. Please check you flight details for this information.

TRAVEL OPTIONS FROM THE AIRPORT

Once you have arrived at your airport, you may decide to travel to the festival area via train. You can chose to arrive at either Hainault Underground Station (Central Line) or Romford Station (British Rail). To plan your journey from the airport to Hainault or Romford Stations by train, please check the TFL website.

Getting to the festival site is easy and TfL will be able to help you plan the quickest and cheapest route from your airport to either of these stations.

For those who wish to book an Uber you can save £10 off your booking by using SUNBORN. Prices will vary depending on where you are travelling from but Uber will always give you an approximate cost before you book a driver. There will be black cabs and mini-cabs available near to the airport you arrive at but be aware these are typically more expensive than an Uber.

HOW TO ARRIVE AT THE FESTIVAL SITE

Once you arrive at either Hainault or Romford, you have a number of options available that will take you to the Hainault Forest Country Park site:

 

  • 247 bus from either Hainault Station or Romford market
  • Local mini-cab services

  • Uber rides which are available by using their mobile app.
  • Jump aboard the local 247 bus which is only a short ride away from the festival site.
  • Walking distance from Grange Hill station is around 20-25 minutes with the Festival being 1.3 Miles away
  • Walking distance from Hainault to the festival site is 1.6 miles which is a 30 minute walk. To walk from Romford takes 1 hour 15 minutes, which a distance of 4.5 miles.
